Redemption Street
04:06
|
|||
Well I wonder were she goes
Is she reaping, what she sews
Well I wonder what she finds
Loving arms or piece of mind
Well I wonder what she finds
Loving arms or piece of mind
Will I wonder what she sees
What she wants is what she needs
Well I wonder when love dies
If the heart’s the last to cry
Well I wonder when love dies
If the heart’s the last to cry
Well I wonder where I’ll be
When my savior comes courting me
Well I wonder where I’ll go
Harps on high, or down below
Well I wonder where I’ll go
Harps on high, or down below
Well I wonder if well meet
Pearly gates, Redemption Street
Well I wonder what she’ll say
Live and love another day
Well I wonder what she’ll say
Live and love another day
Live and love another day

Cannon Ball
03:21
|
|||
Can you believe in anything?
Can you believe in anyone
I wanna say, I wanna stay, Bye Bye
When love is gone forever long
From summers glow ‘til the winters gone
I cannot see for the life of me Bye Bye
I miss you too, Bye Bye
The wind blows and then it goes
Know one knows what no knows
I wanna say it’s all OK Bye Bye
It’s a cannonball Bye Bye

Lethal Injection
02:34
|
|||
I don’t like hangings, it doesn’t always work
And if it doesn’t work, looks like it really hurts
I don’t like the gas chamber, what if you hold your breath, and try to linger
And if you take that breath, do you feel it in your lungs
Or is it over, is it just done
I don’t like the electric chair, sometimes they have to hit you over and over
3 or 4 times, it doesn’t seems fair
Why don’t they turn it up, or don’t they care
And if I have to go, in that direction I want lethal injection
man to man to man to man
Woman to woman, back to man see
I’m a man, I am poor, did I do it? Who knows for sure
I am black, Is that a fact?
I am white. But white trash right.
I am stupid, uneducated
I kill for money, you kill for the state
With your fine detection, you know I want lethal injection
It’s time. Hope my story brings lots of money
What will my last words be, hope they’re funny
Don’t want to say, something stupid
Like my flies open, or I am innocent

All I Am
05:15
|
|||
Is there anything you need
Is there anything you want from me
is there anything I can do to set you free
Time always seems
to be gone before you share a moments piece
hold on tight till you release
Chorus:
Take all I am
I’m nothing without you anyway
take all I am
I’m nothing without you,
nothing without you
Is there anything I can give you
That you have not already taken away
Is there anything that you would like to say
Love can be so deep
that where it ends it’s hard to tell
Hard to gather water from the deepest well
Chorus:
Bridge:
You tell yourself that it’s all gonna be alright
comes down to the end you give up the fight
All you hear is the sound of a tollin’ bell
at least you now where all the pieces fell

Devil Moon
04:56
|
|||
Devil Moon, shine on me
Devil moon will never let you be
Devil moon it start to shine
For light of day comes hard to find
Before the sun becomes a memory
Devil Moon, shine on me
Devil moon lights up your misery
Devil moon will mark your days
Cast a shadow on your grave
Devil moon will never let you be
Shine on, devil moon
Devil Moon, shine on me
Thin line between what and what will be
Devil moon is on the rise
One look you can’t close your eyes
Devil moon is dark but you can see
Shine on, devil moon
Devil Moon, shines on you
Devil moon starts every night new
A quite mind’s the price you pay
Full moon draws and empty gaze
Devil moon will have you for it’s through
Shine on devil moon
Devil moon shines on you
If it has you one thing you can do
Never risk a skyward glance
Never dare to take that chance
Never dare to cross the devil moon
Shine on devil moon

Sorrow Town
02:48
|
|||
In 1979 a D.C. 10 went down in our town
And everybody saw the engine fall or so they said
It made our desks shake like a small earthquake
The siren sounds throughout our town
They made us put our heads down
CHORUS
And everybody’s going down
And everybody’s going down
To the sorrow town….
We sneak through the tree but can’t get close enough to see
We ride our bikes to the lights but the cops are thick as thieves
Steve found a bone but it’s raccoon plus he’s an idiot
They hauled it all away to this day people say there’s loot
CHORUS
Family members come
To stare out at the fields
Disaster freaks detectors beep
At the sadness buried deep
At the sadness buried deep
CHORUS

Written in Stone
04:42
|
|||
They play awfully lose with freedom, in the land of the free
I could say they had it comin', till they came after me
Too many people fly their flag, on Independence Day
They take it down on the 5th, fold it up and pack it away
They will never understand, they will never understand
They play awfully lose with the facts, give it just the right spin
Some how we’re always right, some how we always win
Keep em’ scared and in the dark, patriotic unity
But all this talk about the homeland sounds like motherland to me
This is my country, god knows I love her strong
But I just can not stand by, with my back against the wall
When I think you’ve got it wrong
They play awfully lose with justice, seems they robbed her blind
The old girl was not afraid, as they were sneaking up behind
For a county built on dreams, and the promise of a better life
We’ve found far too many ways, to take away your rights
They play awfully lose with truth, but man that’s nothing new
Telling a lie a thousand times, in the end will make it true
Why must we always face the darkness, before we see the light?
Why can we never stand together, unless we’re taking up the fight?
This is my country, god knows I love her strong
But I just can not stand by, with my back agents the wall
When I think you’ve got it wrong
Speak loud of what you stand for, and scream at what you’re against
It doesn’t matter what side you’re on,
As long as your feet are on the ground, and you’re not sitting on the fence
I say America, love it or change it, make it your own
The words that you should live by, should not be, written in stone

Going to the City
03:02
|
|||
I’m going to the city
Going to stay
Going to the city for the rest of my days
Gonna make some money
Gonna make new friends
Gonna learn to love, love again
CHORUS
It’s a long way home
It’s a long way home
It’s a long way home
Going to the city
Gonna ride the train
Everything old is new again
Gonna sell my car
Never going home
In a city of millions
I’ll never be alone
CHORUS
Nothing good happens these days
Gotta learn to live, live again
Going to the city
Gonna die alone
In a Potter’s field they’ll rest my bones
CHORUS

Rev. Jack
02:12
|
|||
Reverend Jack has now got the cancer
Stands on the altar searching for the answers
Services last 3 or 4 hours these days
The immortal soul of Reverend Jack
Is leaving us and it’s not coming back
He’s starting to pack for the next life
Reverend Jack has got the cancer now
R.J. come to us from a mission
South of Costa Rica converting the heathens
He said he missed most the rainy season
Reverend Jack was never a Catholic
The most beautiful women to him were Hispanic
He came to us with no hint of a scandal
Reverend Jack has got the cancer now
Some lessons learned you never forget
The taste of a homemade cigarette
When a congregation starts to slip
R.J. says that personal demons
And the ones in the bible are the very same thing
You can try but can’t drink either away
Reverend Jack has got the cancer today
Reverend Jack has got the cancer now

Messerly & Ewing Cincinnati, Ohio
When Mark Messerly and Brian Ewing went on hiatus, it wasn’t even official. Cincy band Wussy kept Messerly busy and Ewing had a similar schedule with Catalog Cowboys. But somehow they still found time to do acoustic gigs. In 2009, the pair resolved to celebrate their 15th year together by adding Sean Rhiney and Bill Donabedian as their backing band and turn up the volume. ... more
