lyrics

this song will not come easy
every words a fight
never been this hard before
this could be... the last song I’ll ever write
what then should I say
should I force the rhyme
does it even matter
should I take the time

when my life is over
after I’m gone
will you still remember me
by the words of my last song

will this make you laugh
or will this make you cry
I’d like to leave here with a smile on my face
and a tear drawn to my eye
and if this is the last time
I put words to voice
it’s important to know
if it’s by choice or cures

if this life is long
with just these four cords
will I still... find the joy in playing
or will it become a chore
and in these few words
will I find the strength that I’ve been looking for
or will I break down and pray
oh lord let me write just one more
